Important Community Update: New Statewide "Bell-to-Bell" Device Policy
New Jersey's Bell-to-Bell Cell Phone Law
Beginning in September 2026, New Jersey law (P.L. 2025, c. 195) requires all school districts to implement a bell-to-bell restriction on personal internet-enabled devices, including cell phones, smartwatches, and tablets, for students in grades K-12.
Students will be expected to keep these devices turned off and stored away throughout the entire school day, including during lunch and class transitions.
This requirement supports the Bound Brook School District's commitment to providing focused, engaging learning environments where students can fully participate in instruction and connect with their peers.
Additional information regarding district procedures, expectations, and implementation will be shared with families in the coming weeks.
Please see flyers attached for additional details.
