  • On September 28, 2017, Bound Brook Police Department helped support Smalley School with the “Safe Routes to School” initiative by providing free helmets to students who ride their bicycles to school every day. Chief Vito Bet along with Officer Munoz and Mrs. Delgaizo, Principal of Smalley School collaborated to make sure the students’ safety is the first priority as they leave home to arrive for school.

Chief Bet and Officer Munoz came into the school to speak with the select students who ride their bicycles to school on a daily basis about their safety while riding their bicycles; specifically, if they were to fall while performing their “tricks” or the possibility of getting hit.

With the support of Bound Brook Police Department, Smalley School students will now be safer on their way to school and on their way home from school, ensuring the continuation of the Bound Brook School District’s and Bound Brook Police Department’s “Safer Routes to School” initiative!
