Celebrating Career and Technical Education (CTE) Month

Career and Technical Education Month®, or CTE Month®, takes place each February to celebrate the value, achievements and accomplishments of CTE programs across the country.

CTE is an educational option that provides learners the opportunity to explore the world of work through an academic experience that includes increased opportunities for earning industry-valued credentials, college credit, and work-based learning, all while meeting the state high school graduation requirements.

CTE gives purpose to learning by emphasizing real-world skills and practical knowledge within a selected career focus. In New Jersey, there are more than 74,980 secondary students participating in CTE programs focused on industries such as Life Sciences, Health Care, Financial Services, Advanced Manufacturing, Technology, and Construction and Utilities.

As part of our CTE Month celebration, we plan to spotlight high-quality CTE programs and students in our state. This MONTH of CELEBRATING CTE is a great opportunity
to inform a broader community about the power of CTE and how New Jersey schools are preparing students for success in a variety of career pathways.
