Under Recently enacted N.J.S.A. 18A:11-11, a public hearing and notice is required for any change in the Superintendent's contract. Action may be taken at the July 25, 2011 Board of Education Meeting.
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, Dr. Edward Hoffman was first employed as Superintendent of Schools under a three year contract dated June 2, 2005; and
WHEREAS, the Board took action at its meeting on January 14, 2008 to re-appoint Dr. Hoffman as Superintendent of Schools for a term commencing on January 14, 2008 and ending June 30, 2012; and
WHEREAS, the terms of such Contract have now been incorporated into a new Contract prepared by the Board attorney; and
WHEREAS, the Board is desirous of formally approving the new Contract; now therefore it be
RESOLVED that the Board hereby rescinds any existing contracts with Dr. Hoffman, with his consent, such consent being contingent on the Board approving his new Contract; and be it further
RESOLVED that the Board hereby appoints Dr. Hoffman as Superintendent of Schools for a term commencing on the date of this resolution and ending June 30, 2014, and be it further
RESOLVED that the Board approve the new Employment Contract for Dr. Hoffman and authorize the Board President and Business Administrator to execute same on behalf of Board.
